VERY nerdy one, this. I've been watching a lot of old TV recently, and ITV in particular. It's gotten me thinking about the old regional ITV idents, and I'm very interested in old TV presentation. In fact, it's something we may be spotlighting on the podcast very soon. So, the question is, what was YOUR regional ident? This doesn't have to just be about the Brits, what was your TV ident of choice worldwide? What was your favourite? Which BBC idents do you remember fondly? To start the ball rolling, here's the ones I remember: For ITV, it was Yorkshire. No in-vision continuity, just the massive chevron looking forebodingly: As for Auntie Beeb, it was this that I mainly remember - the COW (Computer Originated World): So how about you guys? Which idents do you remember from being a kid?

Growing up in the Granada region this image is burned into my brain. There was many times we would have to call the tv repair man out & I would stare at his box of tools & parts in wonder. There was even a Granada tv shop in the town centre so you couldn't escape the symbol. Probably my favourite though was the Channel 4 logo made up of the multi coloured sticks. I can even remember trying to recreate it with the some bits & bobs in school. I'm that sad given the chance I would do it now.

Being of the South-West, my ITV region was HTV (West): I always liked how they made it look like a household TV aerial. But then in the '90s, it got a redesign that was an apparent step towards the homogenisation of ITV... That's just boring -- no visual pun.
