This week it's all about the fear - fear of everything. We'll be taking a look at PIFs - Public Information Films - those mini horror films that were meant to instruct and help people not brain themselves on anything and everything, or not get fried by electricity susbstations, or be able to cross the road without getting turn over EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Join Glenn, Becca and Paula as they go through some of their favourites, and some that truly scarred them for life afterwards. Including the ones starring Dave Prowse. SPLINK! Episode 248 - Protect and Survive can be found HERE, or subscribe on itunes

God's I watched sooo many of these PIF's when I was younger. I used to be a REALLY early riser and the likes of ITV & Channel 4 especially played them in the run up to programming starting back up at 05:30/06:00.
Love the shout out to Zoids. Wonderful kits. Apparently they are still going fairly strong in Japan, and I think that the comic strip (the back up to the old Action Force comic) was by one Grant Morrison, clearly having watched Alien & The Terminator one too many times whilst tripping his balls off.... And if I remember right, the "good" Blue Zoids were lead by the gorilla and Zoidzilla, whilst the "evil" Red Zoids had a Triceratops, Mammoth and a Wyvern(!) as their leaders.
And a toy I always wished I'd been able to pick up as a kid? Scorponok was one I'd have loved, but the one time I had the money to get him Argos were out of stock (so got Tomax & Xamaot instead), but I always wanted to have the complete team of Dinobots. And niftily I've managed to achieve this goal recently as I now own a complete set of Planet-X's Fall of Cybertron inspired Dinobots. Pricey, but full of win
