This week's going to be a bit of a "Let's slowly get back into it" special, where we'll be telling you all the lovely things we got for Christmas, along with lots and lots of spoilery discussions about The Force Awakens (come on, it's been long enough and it's been killing us)
So, what did YOU get for Christmas? And what did you think of the latest Star Wars movie? Here's where you let us know, and we'll read out your answers on the podcast this Friday!
Happy new year ladies and gentleman of the rose tinted telephone box.
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year.
Once again my Christmas sucked, but that is to be expected when you don't talk to most of your family. I wasn't expecting anything for Christmas so i bought myself a Masterpiece G2 Sideswipe of ebay that was preowned and cheap as he had soem bizarre stickers all over him, and Generations Blackack, Grooze and Warpath that were cheap on amazon at the time.
I received two surprise gifts that meant a lot to me. I had an Age of Extinction Slog (the Sludge based on) arrive from amazon without knowing where it came from. It was revealed on twitter that it was the fantastic Geoff (I don't know if he would want his surname read out on the podcast but everyone's favourite Irishman who doesn't like the movies everyone else does., who sent it and amazon didn't include the note they were supposed to.
The second surprise present also came from my amazon wishlist from the lovely Lisa Darkesthour. She sent me Transformers The Movie on blu ray. I have never had anyone do anything like this for me before, so it meant a lot to me that I have made some awesome friends in this community that would do something like this for me. Even as I type this I can feel a tear in my eye like a big baby.
As for Star Wars I enjoyed it. I did have a smile on my face when such this as the Falcon showed up on screen,# and some great new characters. I was a bit flat at the en, but I don't know if that was the weird unenthusiastic mood I have been in for months or if I was expecting certain characters to show up in the final fight scene that didn't. But a fun film with some great nostalgia moments. Lando is now no longer the only black man in the universe.
Xmas was rather nice this year I got a lovely hoodie from RedBubble with an Autobot Faction symbol, A classic Marvel Avengers mug, Chewbacca socks, Minions on BLu Ray which was surprisingly funny. I'm sure I got other stuff but old age is causing me to forget lol
I am one of the few who hasn't actually been to see the new star wars movie so cant really report on what I thought lol
As we all know 2016 is going to be a very special year for Mr Philip Scott as he approaches his 40th later this month but also for the fact He and Kim will have their own little family this year, A massive congratulations to both of them.
Which is somewhat random (as a present for me). As I've never had or read a Justice League comic... Or of any character there in... Not that, that makes it any less awesome
Now I've have to work out who everyone is. I only know Superman, Batman, Wonder Women and The Green Lantern.
Star Wars... Well the Force has well and truly awakened!
I saw it at half past Midnight on the Sunday Morning (the 20th) in IMAX 3D in the Printworks Odeon in Manchester (where I'd travel to see the Courteeners on the Saturday night). I then saw it again in 2D at the Odeon at Leisure World in Southampton on the 30th.
I love every single minute of it,
Highlights being BB8, Rey, BB8, Kylo Ren and his karma... or lack of it. All of basically.
Only one minor niggle, Supreme Leader Snoke, for the Love of all things Star Wars, could they not have thought of a better name... or just call him the Supreme Leader. The name sounds like something out the moomins... Not that theres anything particularly wrong with the Moomins, but this is Star Wars
