A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... Yes folks, there's not long to go until Episode VII of the Star Wars saga is upon us, so here at BTTE Towers we thought it'd be a nice idea to go back, way back, to where it all began. So let's all have a good look at Episode IV, shall we? To when Luke Skywalker was just a farm boy flying through Beggar's Canyon, Ben Kenobi was a crazy old wizard, Darth Vader had killed Anakin Skywalker, and R2 and 3PO were the narrators. May the Force be with you. Always. Solidarité avec les Paris. Episode 243 - I Have a Bad Feeling About This... can be found HERE, or subscribe on itunes

Another excellent podcast, and I couldn't resist sharing my own memories of Star Wars (I'm also old enough to remember it not being "episode 4"). I was three years old when it was released, and it was the first film I was taken to the cinema to see- it was an experience that never left me. The toys were an integral part of my childhood, and to this day, Star Wars is a beloved piece of my life. Critics may complain about the cheesy dialogue (the actors certainly did!), but the pacing and sheer feel-good factor of the film still makes it a valid and exciting piece of cinema almost Forty years later. Special mention must go to the music of John Williams- it is something that runs almost constantly throughout the film, almost unnoticeable at times, and has been described as the "oxygen" of the saga. To this point, I absolutely have to recommend the Star Wars Oxygen podcast. In a series of episodes the music of the saga is broken down and analysed to give an incredible insight into the making of the films. I thought I'd also share my memories of Star Wars. I got into Star Wars (properly)just prior to Episode III coming out in the cinema... and When Revenge of the Sith came out on DVD, I thought I'd buy the 25th edition of the original series of which I only had very vague memories of from back in the 80's. I had absolutely no memories of the first film, I probably had seen it, but nothing triggered any memories. It was almost as if I was watching it for the first time. I liked it, the fight scenes I found a bit jarring (having seen the energy in Episode III).

Hi guys thought I also would share my memories, it's funny but I never really got into Star Wars until the prequels they'd been dotted about on tele but never seen it. I remember them showing it in a holiday camp one time and I saw glimpse of Vader's ship in empire and thought that was the Death Star because it looked huge and badass, but I didn't stay long cos like Paula I just wanted to run around haha when I finally watched them films I loved them after seeing the prequels the light sabre battles did look a little clunky and stiff, but even so they're still good and he film still holds up. I'd say my favourite ship was the X-wing, favourite character is Luke cos I always seem to side with the hero. Also going off your discussion about Kenny baker, a few years ago I want to LFCC and met him and at the time he was in a wheelchair and looked a bit frail as I was getting his autograph, not wanting to see him struggle as he looked like he was having some trouble finishing the signing I went tell him it's fine just leave it at that only for him to stop DEAD, his head dropped he didn't move and he looked like he wasn't breathing. At this point I panic and think 'holy shit, I've killed R2-D2, I'm in the middle of nerd central and I've just killed R2-D2. luckily his attendent gave him a shake to which he woke up and said 'sorry must of dozed off' all the while I'm trying to get my breath back.
