On a recent episode of the podcast someone asked if there was ever a Mike McShane figure released for the Robin Hood film. I was certain I had about a figure being made which used the Gamorrean Guard body from ROTJ. Looking for information about this I came across this article. theswca.com/images-speci/recycle/

I do love those Robin Hood toys, even though the entire line has been cribbed from a bunch of other toys. Here's another good article that details almost all of the reused parts- you'll see that Robin Hood is basically a Super Powers Green Arrow (quite fitting, really...), and the Sherriff of Nottingham is less Alan Rickman, and more Lex Luthor crossed with a Robocop bad guy! www.actionfigureinsider.com/kenners-robin-hood/There's also a ton of repurposing of the vehicles- the Bola Bomber & Net Launcher are straight remoulded from the little known "Bone Age" toy line, and the Robin Hood Battle Wagon is just the Ewok Battle Wagon (with a few bells, whistles, ...and, um, an Ewok Catapault) added. It's not all bad, though- most of the figures have undergone a bit of resculpting, and hot damn if that Ewok Village play set doesn't look 100 times better with proper tree canopies!

Excellent article mylittleponfarr. I've remembered reading in an issue of Toyfair about a TMNT vehile being reused in the Chicken Run toyline. Also Mattel reused the idea of the MOTU Slime Pit in the first Harry Potter toyline but I think the set was a new mould.

Fantastic. I had heard about the MOTU/Big Jim connection (possibly from (Toyfare) but have never seen pictures before. Thanks for posting the link.

Oh, man, I'm having so much fun finding these! Here's Hasbro's cheeky entry in the "recycled toys" competition- the GI Joe Capture Cobra Mountain playset is a reworked Star Wars Battle Arena Geonosis playset Why hey would I call it cheeky, since it's quite a heavy retooling? Well, if you swing the Joe playset around and look on the floor, there's a bunch of dead Battle Droids sculpted into the floor! More info here, along with details of a reworked Endor Bunker: www.yojoe.com/vehicles/03/cobramountain/www.yojoe.com/archive/actfig/starwars.shtml

Ha! That New Adventures of He-Man & Demolition Man reuse was a new one on me! -and honestly- how many times can that Fistzooka be slapped on a figure? It seems that by rights, every action figure line should have one by now
